Shadow Journal is a product of Inner Exploration Labs™ ("Shadow Journal," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Shadow Journal (the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Shadow Journal is a shadow work application designed to support personal reflection, self-discovery, and wellness. The Service provides tools for recording triggers and reactions, exploring patterns, and receiving personalized reflections informed by Jungian psychology.
The Service is intended for personal insight and reflection only. It does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic services.
If you use Shadow Journal without creating an account, no entry content, reflections, or conversations are saved.
If you use Shadow Journal during the free trial and do not subscribe, your entries and conversations will be retained for up to 7 days after the trial ends. After this period, all trial data will be permanently deleted.
Your entries, reflections, and conversation history are stored while you maintain an active subscription. If your subscription lapses or expires without renewal, your data will be retained for 90 days, after which it will be permanently deleted. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before deletion so you have the opportunity to resubscribe.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service. By using Shadow Journal, you grant a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing reflections, insights, and related features.
We do not claim ownership of your personal content, and we do not sell or share it with third parties.
The reflections, insights, and guidance provided by Shadow Journal are intended for personal reflection and wellness support. They are not a substitute for professional psychological, medical, or therapeutic advice.
If you are experiencing significant emotional distress or mental health concerns, we encourage you to seek support from a qualified healthcare professional.
The Service is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shadow Journal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. When changes are significant, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. In rare circumstances, accounts may also be closed due to extended inactivity or operational necessity. When feasible, we will provide notice before taking such action.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, and data handling will follow the retention policies described above.
